Don't blame yet: Revealing how a "Thai" helped "Takeru" achieve a knockout victory over "Rodtang" at ONE Samurai 1 (Video)

On 30 April 2026, Sirimongkol Singwangcha, a former Thai world boxing champion, took to his personal social media after playing an important role in helping Japanese fighter Takeru Segawa decisively knock out Rodtang Jitmuangnon at the ONE Samurai 1 event.

Takeru Segawa, who had previously been knocked out by Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE 172 on 23 March 2025, avenged his loss decisively this time. He knocked Rodtang down three times before finishing the fight with a knockout at 2:22 in the 5th round, claiming the interim ONE Kickboxing Flyweight World Championship belt in what was his final career fight.

One key behind Takeru Segawa's important victory was Sirimongkol Singwangcha, who served as trainer for the Japanese star. He helped by sparring as a target during training, aiding Takeru's preparation to successfully avenge his loss to Rodtang Jitmuangnon in spectacular fashion.

Recently, after Takeru's knockout win over Rodtang, Sirimongkol stated, "I believe half the country might be criticizing me, but I am still Thai. Work is work. You have to admit, every punch from Takeru really landed hard."
