"Thailand S. Rungsak" delivered a fierce performance, defeating "Pornpetch Top Fairy Gym" on points to secure a ticket to the semifinals of the 25th True Thai Tiger Cement Boxing Tournament, Group B.
The 25th True Thai Tiger Cement Boxing Tournament took place at Channel 7 HD Boxing Stadium on 5 July. This was the second match in the Group B quarterfinals. Before the fights, Mr. Jomorn Lekakul (representative of Tiger Cement) along with Mr. Kamron Intratho from Khao Wong Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Ban Ta Khun District, Surat Thani Province (also representing Tiger Cement), honored the occasion by placing garlands to encourage the fighters on both matches. The first match featured Muangchang S. Dechapant (red corner) against Saengthongnoi Saengthong Gas (blue corner) at 116 pounds, and the second match had Thailand S. Rungsak (red corner) facing Pornpetch Top Fairy Gym (blue corner) also at 116 pounds.
In the first match, Muangchang S. Dechapant faced Saengthongnoi Saengthong Gas. Both fighters had suffered losses before; the loser would be immediately eliminated, while the winner advanced. In the first round, Muangchang aggressively approached, kicking the body with a right leg followed by punches. Saengthongnoi focused on a cautious game, countering with left body kicks but was met with Muangchang’s right kicks, punches, and elbows. Saengthongnoi retreated to the corner near the bell, showing signs of a severe nosebleed. Early in the third round, the bout ended quickly as Muangchang clinched and delivered a series of knees followed by a strong right elbow that struck Saengthongnoi’s nose and chin, knocking him down. The referee counted to ten, resulting in a TKO victory for Muangchang in round three, allowing him to continue, while Saengthongnoi was eliminated.
In the second match, Thailand S. Rungsak went up against Pornpetch Top Fairy Gym. Both had wins in previous matches; the winner would immediately advance to the semifinals as the second qualifier, while the loser would still continue. Thailand fought southpaw style with powerful left kicks, while Pornpetch, an orthodox fighter, used heavy kicks and punches. Pornpetch moved quickly, engaging in close range with clinches and knees but without much impact. Thailand countered by catching a kick, causing Pornpetch to fall backward and lose form. Towards the end, Thailand maintained aggressive offense, landing solid left kicks that prevented Pornpetch from mounting effective attacks. At the end of the fight, Thailand won decisively on points, advancing as the second semifinalist. Pornpetch, despite the loss, remained in the competition.
