Thanathorn Reveals Next Goals for Thai Womens Futsal After World Cup Exit, Points to Loss Causes Against Colombia

Thanathorn reveals the next goals for the Thai women's futsal team after their exit from the Futsal World Cup and points to the reasons for their loss to Colombia.

On 28 November 2025, Thanathorn Santhanaprasit, head coach of the Thai women's national futsal team, gave an interview after the third Group B match of the 2025 Women's Futsal World Championship, in which Thailand lost 1-4 to Colombia, finishing third in the group.

Coach O Thanathorn Santhanaprasit explained the cause of the Thai women's futsal team's defeat to Colombia in the decisive qualification match was due to loss of concentration in the early minutes after Colombia took a 2-0 lead. "We had a plan, but once on the field, we lost focus in the first five minutes. We tried to regain the players' concentration, which worked for a while."

"In the second half, I told the players we had to attack as we had practiced, and we did manage to do that. But as the game went on, our errors increased, our focus slipped again, and it became quite difficult to regain concentration."

The Thai women's futsal coach concluded that the next goal is to win the gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games. "Right now, I want the players to rest their physical and mental condition for about one to two days before resuming training for the SEA Games."

"As a coach, I believe that being eliminated from the Futsal World Cup should not affect our SEA Games performance. I am confident we will win the championship."

"I thank the Thai futsal fans who supported us both at the stadium and back home. Thank you very much for your encouragement. In this match, we have to accept that Colombia was determined and eager to win against us."

Following this, the Thai women's futsal team will return immediately, arriving at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at approximately 18:00 GMT+7.
