Areeya speaks candidly after the Thai women's futsal team lost to Colombia and was eliminated from the 2025 Women's Futsal World Championship.
On 28 November 2025, Areeya Sae-Tern, forward for the Thai women's national futsal team, gave an interview following their 1-4 loss to Colombia in the third match of Group B at the 2025 Women's Futsal World Championship. This result placed Thailand third in the group, narrowly missing out on advancing to the quarterfinals.
Areeya Sae-Tern, who scored Thailand's only goal against Colombia, said, "We have to accept that Colombia was better. We have shortcomings that we need to improve upon. Even though I scored, I am not fully satisfied. Scoring is always to help the team."
"I feel glad to have had the chance to play on the world stage. We will go back to improve and prepare for the SEA Games to perform better. We are not disappointed; we made mistakes and now we move on. We'll try again in the next tournament. Thank you to all futsal fans who have supported and cheered for us throughout. Thank you."
After this, the Thai women's futsal team will immediately return home, expected to arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on 29 November 2025 at approximately 18:00.
