A single word of faith that day created today's legend: "Jaomed" Muhammad Usman Musa hails Miguel Rodrigo as the luckiest figure in his futsal career.
On 20 Dec 2025 GMT+7, "Jaomed" Muhammad Usman Musa, a member of Thailand’s national futsal team, posted a heartfelt message to Miguel Rodrigo, the head coach of Thailand’s men’s futsal team, following his official announcement to step down as coach of the “War Elephants” after failing to secure the gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games. Miguel confirmed he will no longer take coaching roles professionally, whether at club or national level, marking the complete end of his coaching career.
Jaomed expressed his gratitude for everything Miguel has given to the Thai people. He said one of the greatest fortunes in his futsal career was having the chance to work with a coach like Miguel, learning futsal tactics and positive attitudes from him, as well as his humility and good nature.
He recalled that when he first joined the national team in 2017, Miguel was the first person to tell him, “You have the potential to play in Spain, but it depends on you from now on.” Miguel’s words inspired him to dedicate himself and improve to make that happen. Jaomed thanked Miguel for everything and for believing in him back then.
Those words became a key inspiration that pushed "Jaomed" to commit, develop himself, and prove his worth, leading him to become the first Thai futsal player to win the top futsal league championship in Spain.
During the two years Miguel Rodrigo led Thailand’s national futsal team, he guided them to the finals of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup and achieved a ninth-place finish at the Futsal World Cup.
Looking ahead, Rodrigo revealed he will devote his experience to what he loves most next: coaching youth and developing new coaches. He plans to work with the amateur club Albolote FS in his hometown and assist those seeking to grow in their futsal careers.
