
In the ASEAN Futsal Championship, Thailand's U16 futsal team lost to Indonesia, repeating the senior team's outcome in the 2025 SEA Games final.
On 29 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the 2025 ASEAN Futsal Championship for under-16s reached its final, where Thailand U16 faced Indonesia U16 at the Gymnasium of the Central Stadium in Nonthaburi Province. The match was broadcast live at 16:00.
Just one minute into the game, Thailand took the lead 1-0 through Boonrit Petchthiam.
Then, in the 4th minute, Indonesia equalized 1-1 with a goal from Hetson Messi.
At the 17th minute, Thailand regained the lead 2-1 as Boonrit Petchthiam advanced the ball, skillfully dribbled past two Indonesian players, and struck a right-footed shot into the far post.
In the 20th minute, Indonesia leveled again at 2-2 when Muhammad Faisal cut inside from the left wing and shot a right-footed goal into the far post. The first half ended with this score.
In the second half, at the 26th minute, Indonesia took the lead 3-2. Thailand goalkeeper Thanathip Samransuk misplayed a ball, which went to Muhammad Faisal who then passed to Muhammad Dafa, who scored with a left-footed shot.
Two minutes later, at the 28th minute, Indonesia extended their lead to 4-2. Muhammad Fosan set up Muhammad Faisal, who scored with a right-footed shot past goalkeeper Thanathip Samransuk.
At the 38th minute, Thailand reduced the deficit to 3-4 from a free kick just outside the penalty area. Boonrit Petchthiam scored a right-footed shot over the Indonesian goalkeeper, completing his hat-trick for the match.
The match ended with Thailand losing 3-4 to Indonesia, finishing as runners-up in the 2025 ASEAN Futsal Championship.
