MEA teams up with FA Thailand to support the “MEA Futsal Thai League 2026” for the third consecutive year, expanding its scope to fully back the national team and women’s league. This effort aims to promote Thailand’s sports Soft Power globally while delivering happiness to city residents.
MEA, or the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, continues its vital mission under the vision “Energy for Metropolitan Life,” reaffirming its leadership in supporting Thai sports. It has joined forces with the Football Association of Thailand to sign a cooperation agreement to support professional futsal for the third consecutive year in the “MEA Futsal Thai League 2026.” This year marks a new milestone by extending support to the Thai national futsal team for international competitions and to the women’s futsal league, promoting equal opportunities. The initiative aims to build strong Soft Power, drive economic and social progress, and bring joy and pride to Thai people nationwide through exciting, accessible sports. This reinforces MEA’s role not only in ensuring stable electricity but also in sustainably enhancing urban quality of life.
The signing ceremony took place in the Auditorium of the Wattana Vipas Building at MEA headquarters in Khlong Toei on 12 January 2026. Present were MEA Governor Dichawat Jan-ee and “Big Pom” Adisak Benjasiriworn, Vice President of the Football Association of Thailand for futsal and beach soccer. The event was held under the concept “MEA | FA Thailand Powering Thai Futsal... Creating a New Legendary Legacy.”
Entering its third year as the main sponsor, MEA plays a crucial role in strengthening Thai futsal, proudly helping the sport rise to become one of the world’s top contenders.
Mr. Pisanu Tantithaworn, MEA Deputy Governor, stated, “MEA is very pleased with the continued collaboration between MEA and FA Thailand, elevating Thailand’s futsal scene for the third consecutive year.”

A highlight of the 2026 season is MEA’s expanded support—from being the title sponsor of the men’s professional league alone to becoming the "Official Supporter" of the Thai national futsal team. This aims to enhance the team’s capability in two major national and international tournaments. MEA also emphasizes gender equality by supporting “The Championship Women's Futsal 2026” to inspire and discover new rising stars. The “MEA Futsal Thai League 2026” will maintain its intensity with a playoff format: after 26 regular-season matches, the top six teams will compete to decide the champion. The competition is scheduled from May to December 2026.
Additionally, MEA focuses on using sports as a medium for social development (CSR) and building Soft Power by supporting the Paralympic Sports Association of Thailand, the Athletics Association, and volleyball sports, as well as subsidizing electricity costs for community sports courts to promote health and unity in urban neighborhoods.
Mr. Adisak Benjasiriworn, Vice President of the Football Association of Thailand for futsal and beach soccer, expressed, “On behalf of all clubs in the Thai futsal community, I sincerely thank the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) for its continuous support as we enter the third year. MEA is not just a sponsor but a vital force driving the advancement and elevation of Thai futsal.”
He added that MEA’s support has helped strengthen and increase the appeal of the Thai Futsal League.
It has also provided morale and capability support to the Thai national futsal team, enabling them to bring honor to Thailand on the international stage and leading Thai futsal toward greater achievements.”
The event also featured Mr. Rakphon Sainetngam, head coach of the Thai men’s national futsal team, along with prominent national players such as Athipong Munphlai, Watchara Laisee, Krit Aransanyalak, Ronachai Jungwongsuk, Panat Kittipanwong, Sarawut Phalapruk, Alongkorn Janporn, Warut Wangsamael, Thanathornkod Deeklang, and Nitiphum Thuensuk, who were present to confirm their readiness and served as witnesses to the ceremony.
