Muhammad Usman Musa revealed the behind-the-scenes story of the Thai men's national futsal team defeating Vietnam in the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship, admitting today's game was tense.
On 31 Jan 2026, Muhammad Usman Musa, the star forward of the Thai men's national futsal team, gave an interview after the third match of the Group B group stage in the AFC Futsal Championship.
In that match, Thailand defeated Vietnam 1-0 with a winning goal by Krit Aransanyalak, securing a full 9 points and immediately becoming Group B champions.
"Jao Met" said, "Today was a tense game because the opponent, Vietnam, is a good team that plays defensively and fights for every ball. But we must thank our teammates and coaching staff who played patiently, and we managed to secure three points."
"Every time I score or the game ends, I thank God. I see Muslim players worldwide doing the same, as a way to show we are Muslims and represent Muslim athletes. I have faith in God and thank everyone; what we have today is because of God."
"I see Indonesia and Iraq as very strong teams. No matter who we face, I think they are good teams. I don’t know who we will meet, but we are ready to face either team. The AFC Championship is a major tournament, and everyone hopes to reach the final. The stadium atmosphere and everything motivate all athletes to want to play."
The next match for the Thai men's national futsal team in the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship quarterfinals will be against the Group B runner-up at Indonesia Arena on 3 February 2026 at 15:00 hrs, broadcast live on YouTube: BG Sports.
