Ronachai Joongwongsuk, Thai futsal defender, is confident in maintaining strong form to exact revenge on Iraq and advance to the Asian Championship semifinals.
On 2 Feb 2026 at 15:00 at Indonesia Arena, Indonesia, the Thai men's national futsal team held a training session to prepare for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup quarterfinal against Iraq.
The training session lasted about an hour, focusing on reviewing tactics, offensive and defensive play, as well as set pieces.
Before training, Ronachai Joongwongsuk said, "We are 100% ready before facing Iraq. We had two days off, and today we reviewed the tactics we will use against Iraq tomorrow."
"In the first round, we set a good standard and will try to maintain it. We will especially emphasize pressing high, intercepting the ball, and scoring."
"In the last Asian Championship, we faced Iraq in the quarterfinals. I think it’s different this time because previously a World Cup spot was at stake, adding pressure. This time, there is no World Cup qualification, but we will do our best to advance. My confidence and that of my teammates is 100%."
The Thai men's national futsal team will play Iraq in the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup quarterfinal at Indonesia Arena on 3 Feb 2026 at 15:00. The match will be broadcast live on YouTube: BG Sports.
