Rakpol Sainetngam opened up after Thailand's national futsal team lost to Iraq, ending their journey in the quarterfinals of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026.
On 3 Feb 2026, Coach Mee, Rakpol Sainetngam, spoke out after Thailand's futsal team lost 2-4 to Iraq, resulting in their elimination in the quarterfinals of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 held at Indonesia Arena, which just concluded.
Recently, Coach Mee said, "First of all, I want to apologize to Thai fans for the disappointment. Today, we performed well below our standard, and we also lost Ronnachai Jungwongsuk due to an early injury. But credit goes to Iraq; they played well, while we did not perform well today."
"Today's game wasn't about the playing surface but about the players' mindset. In the previous match, we played on this field and had adjusted to the conditions reasonably well, with a good atmosphere. Actually, losing this game wasn't due to the field conditions but depended solely on our team's tactics and performance."
"We already know that each ASEAN nation is developing, which is positive because ASEAN countries must support each other. Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam need to assist each other in Asian competitions. I'm glad each nation is advancing, making the competition more intense. I hope either Vietnam or Indonesia advances to the next round."
Thailand's men's futsal team will return to Thailand immediately, arriving at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on 4 Feb 2026 around 13:30. They will hold a planning meeting to prepare the team continuously for the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026, scheduled from 5–12 April 2026 at Nonthaburi Stadium.
