The Thai futsal team has returned home after being eliminated from the 2026 Asian Championship. “Coach Mee” expressed thanks for all the support.
On 4 February 2026 at 13:30, the Thailand men's national futsal team arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport after completing their mission in the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Thai futsal team ended their journey in the quarterfinals after losing 2-4 to Iraq.
Upon arrival, Rakpol Sainetngam, head coach of the Thai futsal team, said, “First, I want to apologize to all the fans for only reaching the quarterfinals. I thank the association, the players for their dedication, their clubs, and all parties involved for their support from the very beginning of my tenure.”
Moving forward, the coaching staff will analyze strengths and weaknesses to improve details in both offense and defense. They will report to the futsal development department and the association to summarize performance and errors. Importantly, they will plan preparations for the next tournament, the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026, which will take place from 5–12 April 2026 at Nonthaburi Stadium.
