
Thailand's futsal team edged Australia 4-3 to advance to the ASEAN Championship final, where they will face Indonesia.
On 10 Apr 2026 at 20:00 GMT+7, at the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization Gymnasium, the 2026 ASEAN Futsal Championship semi-final took place. Thailand's men's national futsal team, ranked 11th worldwide, faced Australia, ranked 51st in the world.
Thailand advanced as Group A champions with three straight wins, while Australia qualified as Group B runners-up after wins over Brunei and Malaysia before losing to Indonesia.
In this match, “Coach Mee” Rakpol Sainetngam fielded the same starting five as the previous game: goalkeeper Theerawat Kaewwilai, captain Itthicha Praphan, Panus Kittipanwong, Muhammad Usman Musa, and Apiwat Jamjaroen.
In the 9th minute, Thailand took the lead 1-0 from a kick-in. Muhammad Usman Musa passed the ball back to Itthicha Praphan, who struck a right-footed shot from just outside the penalty area that went straight into the net.

In the 38th minute, Australia reduced the deficit to 3-4 during a power play, with Ethan De Melo scoring a close-range goal.
No further goals were scored, and the match ended with Thailand defeating Australia 4-3 to advance to the final against Indonesia, who beat Vietnam 3-2.
