Coach Mee Speaks Candidly After Thailands National Futsal Team Comeback Win Over Indonesia to Claim 17th ASEAN Futsal Championship

"Coach Mee" speaks candidly after Thailand's national futsal team came from behind to beat Indonesia and win the ASEAN Futsal Championship for the 17th time.

On 13 April 2026, Coach Mee Rakpol Sainetngam, head coach of Thailand's national futsal team, gave an interview after the "War Elephants" staged a comeback to defeat defending champions Indonesia 2-1 in the final of the 2026 ASEAN Futsal Championship.

Thailand's futsal team fell behind to old rivals Indonesia from the 2025 SEA Games, conceding a goal by Andres Putra in the 16th minute, but responded with two goals from Itticha Praphan in the 20th minute and Panat Kittiphanuwong in the 31st minute.

This secured Thailand the 2026 ASEAN Futsal Championship title in a grand fashion, marking the national team’s 17th championship win.

Recently, Coach Mee Rakpol Sainetngam revealed, "It was very stressful, but I want to commend all the players for performing under pressure. As for Indonesia, whether they win or lose, it’s understandable—they might not have felt as much pressure as our players, but we have to admit our team did their job well."

"Especially when we were down 0-1, we focused on controlling the game to come back. I give credit to all the players and also to all the futsal fans. I sincerely thank you for your support. We have succeeded. Thank you very much."
