MEA supports the FutsalThai League 2026 for the third consecutive year, energizing Thai sports toward Asia's top ranks, promoting Soft Power, and opening a platform to nurture youth dreams.
The grand launch press conference for Thailand's top professional futsal league, "MEA FUTSAL THAI LEAGUE 2026," took place amid an excited atmosphere of futsal enthusiasts gathering to spark energy ahead of the new season. This year’s competition carries the theme Futsal Underground, under the core concept One Spirit. One Game. Thai Futsal. Thai Futsal – From Concrete Courts to the World Stage, emphasizing the charm and origins of Thai players who honed their skills on community concrete courts, forming a vital foundation that propelled the Thai national team to global recognition.
Today (20 April 2026), Mr. Pisanu Tantithaworn, Deputy Governor of MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority), together with Mr. Adisak Benjasiriwan, Vice President of the Football Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, and “Coach Mee” Rakpol Sainetngam, head coach of the Thailand national futsal team, attended the press conference for the professional futsal competition “MEA Futsal Thai League 2026” held in the Auditorium meeting room, 6th floor, Wattanawipas Building, MEA Headquarters.
MEA, or Metropolitan Electricity Authority, continues its vital mission under the vision “Energy for Metropolitan Life,” reaffirming its role as a key driver of Thai sports. It announced ongoing support for the professional futsal competition “MEA Futsal Thai League 2026” for the third year, aiming to raise the league’s standards to the Asian level. The league will feature Play-offs and the return of the FA Cup to boost excitement, build strong Soft Power, and create opportunities for Thai youth to showcase their potential and advance toward professional futsal or national team careers.
Mr. Pisanu Tantithaworn, MEA Deputy Governor, revealed that MEA is proud and delighted to support Thai futsal continuously for the third year. Starting as a sponsor, MEA has become the heart of Thai futsal. MEA’s role goes beyond sponsorship; it acts like an electric current that “ignites power” within the futsal community, creating happiness and sustainably enhancing urban quality of life.
For the 2026 season, futsal fans will enjoy increased excitement from the Play-off system and the return of the eagerly awaited FA Cup, which plays a key role in elevating the league’s standard to become one of Asia’s best. Beyond the professional league goals, MEA emphasizes building a solid sports foundation by focusing on creating opportunities for Thai youth to display their talents, inspiring them to pursue careers as professional futsal players or national athletes in the future.
Moreover, MEA focuses on using sports as a medium for social development (CSR) and building Soft Power, supporting organizations such as the Sports Association for the Disabled of Thailand, the Athletics Association, and Volleyball sports, as well as subsidizing electricity costs for community sports courts to promote health and foster unity in urban communities.
