All sports events for the 2025 SEA Games have now been relocated from Songkhla to Bangkok and Chonburi after severe flooding.
On 26 Nov 2025 GMT+7, Songkhla province experienced severe flooding that trapped residents in their homes; some went four days without food and had to seek refuge on their rooftops due to the high water levels.
Originally, the 2025 SEA Games planned to hold 10 sports in Songkhla province, including chess, kabaddi, football, judo, dance sport (laté), wrestling, pencak silat, wushu, boxing, and petanque.
Recently, Colonel Chaiyak Sirivat, Deputy President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, confirmed that the sports events scheduled for Songkhla will be relocated to Bangkok.
Group B football matches involving Vietnam, Laos, and Malaysia are likely to be moved to the field at Thammasat University, Rangsit campus.
