A grand international ice skating competition is taking place at Sub Zero Mega Bangna, featuring participants from seven countries. The first event, Sub Zero Skate Bangkok 2025, includes competitors from 19 nations showcasing their skills. Concurrently, the ISI Asia International Championships Final has 16 teams competing for the championship title.
The first day of the Sub Zero Skate Bangkok 2025 international ice skating competition at Sub Zero Mega Bangna featured an official opening ceremony. Thapanee Kiatphaiboon, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, presided over the event, joined by Thanathorn Suwicha, Director of Major Bowl Group Co., Ltd.; Raul Gomez, Executive Director of the Asia Ice Skating Institute; Phiphat Cherdchit, Competition Director and General Manager of Sub Zero Ice Skate Club; and Natakorn Jaikaew, General Manager of Novotel Bangkok Bangna.
Before the competition began, the organizers held a memorial ceremony honoring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. A highlight was a performance by Keiji Tanaka, an Olympic figure skater from Japan who competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics.
This event is a collaboration between Sub Zero Ice Skate Club and the Asia Ice Skating Institute (ISI Asia), representing Thailand's largest international ice skating competition, held at Sub Zero Mega Bangna.
Seven countries—Thailand, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, the United States, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Kuwait—are participating, with a total of 750 athletes competing in 2,000 events. The competition is expected to draw over 5,000 spectators during the nine-day period.

Sub Zero Skate Bangkok 2025 includes 497 events with 19 teams competing. These teams represent ice rinks from various countries: Aurora Ice Rink (Taiwan), Below Zero (Kuwait), BX Rink Bintaro Jaya (Indonesia), Garden Ice Bandung (Indonesia), Ice Arena Phuket (Thailand), Ice Cave Arena Chiangmai (Thailand), Ice Naka Arena Rangsit (Thailand), Imperial World Ice Skating (Thailand), Oasis Centre Arena (Indonesia), Sky Rink Jakarta (Indonesia), SM Mall of Asia (Philippines), SM Megamall (Philippines), SM Seaside Cebu (Philippines), Sub Zero Ice Skate Club (Thailand), Sunway Pyramid Ice (Malaysia), Tentrem On Ice (Indonesia), The Rink Ice Arena (Thailand), TIIHA Chiangmai (Thailand), and TIIHA Bangkok (Thailand).
The ISI Asia International Championships Final is the championship round where 16 teams that accumulated points from qualifying events compete in 196 events. The teams are BX Rink Bintaro Jaya (Indonesia), Garden Ice Rink Bandung (Indonesia), Ice Arena Phuket (Thailand), Oasis Center Arena (Indonesia), OCA Ice Skating Arena (Indonesia), SCH Ice Skating Arena (Indonesia), Shaker Figure Skating Club (USA), Sky Rink Jakarta (Indonesia), SM Mall of Asia (Philippines), SM Megamall (Philippines), SM Seaside Cebu (Philippines), Sub Zero Ice Skate Club (Thailand), Sunway Pyramid Ice (Malaysia), Suzhou Central Champion Rink (China), TIIHA Chiangmai (Thailand), and TIIHA Bangkok (Thailand).
One of the competitors is 'Khaohom' Paphorn Petsinthopchai, daughter of Thapanee Kiatphaiboon, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, who is participating in the event.
'Khaohom' Paphorn Petsinthopchai will perform in the opening show of the 33rd SEA Games ice skating competition hosted by Thailand, alongside 'Tangmo' Punnada Promyos, daughter of Jang Punnasa Promyos and wife of Jazz Chuanchuen, and several other notable children.
Sub Zero Skate Bangkok 2025 and the ISI Asia International Championships Final are open to the public until 7 Dec 2025 GMT+7, daily from 09:00 to 21:00 at Sub Zero Ice Skate Club, Mega Bangna.
