Thai national mixed doubles badminton pair Bas and Fem openly answer whether their five previous championships put pressure on them to win the SEA Games gold.
On 2 Dec 2025 GMT+7, "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fem" Supissara Paewsampran, Thailand's national mixed doubles badminton pair, spoke about their readiness ahead of the 2025 SEA Games, which Thailand will host from 9 to 20 December 2025.
Bas revealed that this will be his second time participating in the SEA Games, competing in both the team event and mixed doubles. “I am currently 100% ready, with no injuries, and will maintain my physical condition at its best until the competition day,” he said.
Fem, competing in her first SEA Games, said, “I also feel 100% ready. Recently, I have been training very hard and trying to be fully prepared before the competition day.”
The pair admitted that competing together in mixed doubles at the SEA Games for the first time is a challenge, but they are confident in their good form. Bas confirmed that their five previous championships do not pressure him: “I don’t feel pressured by the five titles. We are competing at home, and I just want to perform my best and hope Thai people will cheer for us.”
Fem emphasized their goal to win a medal for Thai sports fans: “Our aim is to get a medal, but we also have to consider our opponents, who are very strong this year.”
Bas analyzed that this year many countries are bringing their full teams: “Malaysia, Indonesia, all are here with their top players. Thailand also has another strong pair, so it will definitely be intense competition.”
“Usually, some countries don’t send their main players, but this year everyone is here. Thailand is sending its top players too. It should be exciting. We hope everyone will come and cheer because we will give it our all,” he added.
