The 2025 SEA Games schedule shows incorrect national flags: Thailand is displayed as Vietnam, while Indonesia is shown as Laos.
On 3 December 2025, the SEA Games to be held from 9 to 20 December in Thailand aim to reclaim the top gold medal position for the first time in 10 years, last achieved in 2015 in Singapore.
There continues to be ongoing controversy regarding issues such as journalists' AD CARD readiness, competition venues, the cancellation of contracts with the opening and closing ceremony designer who had prepared for seven months free of charge, and overall event management, leading to widespread criticism from the media and Thai sports fans.
Most recently, the women's football match between Indonesia and the Thailand national team on 4 December was scheduled with the wrong national flags: Indonesia's flag was shown as Laos's, and Thailand's flag was shown as Vietnam's.
This left Thai sports fans puzzled about the organizers' work, which should have been more orderly and careful.
Previously, during the 2025 ASEAN U19 Futsal Championship, the organizers mistakenly used China's flag instead of Vietnam's, sparking intense social media controversy.
