ASEAN people were stunned to see officials using cloths to soak up water puddles on the baseball field designated for the SEA Games 2025, which Thailand is hosting.
On 5 December 2025, controversy continues surrounding Thailand's hosting of the 2025 SEA Games. Recently, the Facebook page Render Thailand posted images of the baseball venue at the Queen Sirikit 60th Anniversary Sports Complex in Pathum Thani, showing it in a severely dilapidated state, leaving many shocked that it could be used for competition.
Additionally, the page shared a video showing officials using cloths to soak up water pooling in holes on the ground and applying soil to fix issues on site before the competition began.
The page posted, "Today we came to watch the baseball game between Malaysia and Indonesia at the Queen Sirikit 60th Anniversary Sports Complex in Pathum Thani."
"It rained this morning, making the field, stands, and surrounding areas quite messy. Officials had to soak up water and add soil for a while before the game could start. Not many spectators came, mostly foreigners supporting their own countries."
