On 9 Dec 2025, the 2025 SEA Games were held grandly, featuring a total of 50 sports competing for 574 gold medals, along with 3 demonstration sports. The events are scheduled from 3 to 20 December 2025, involving cooperation among 11 countries in the region: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, and Thailand (the host).

The opening ceremony emphasizes setting new standards through the capabilities of Thai people and the younger generation, presenting a globally contemporary yet authentically Thai charm. The main theme is 'the unity of the region,' or WE ARE ONE, featuring five spectacular performances blending traditional arts with modern performing technology to create an impressive spectacle.

A highlight of the opening ceremony is a special show featuring BamBam Kanpimuk Phuwakul, the sole Thai member of the world-renowned K-Pop group GOT7, who is set to deliver a spectacular performance. Also featured are Natthawut Srimok (Golf F.HERO), "V" Violet Wautier, Pitawat Pruksakit (Tong Twopee), and Major Sombat Banchamek (Buakaw Banchamek), among others.

During the parade of athletes from all 11 nations entering the stadium, Her Majesty the Queen led the Thai national team athletes as a competitor in sailing for this SEA Games.

Kulwut Wititsan and Janjaem Suwanpeng carried the Thai national flag, while 'Opor' Suchata Chuangsee, Thailand's first Miss World, carried the placard leading the parade.

Her Majesty the Queen will proceed to participate in the sailing competition representing the Thai national team in the keelboat SSL47 event at the 33rd SEA Games, scheduled from 15 to 18 December 2025 at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province.

The final highlight of the ceremony was the lighting of the torch by Panipak Wongpattanakit, two-time Olympic taekwondo gold medalist.
