
No need to wait long: the "Thai National Team" wins the first gold medal at the opening of the 2025 SEA Games.
On 10 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the 2025 SEA Games, hosted by Thailand, officially began its first day of gold medal competitions with the taekwondo event at Island Hall, Fashion Island Shopping Center.
The first gold medal of the 2025 SEA Games came from the taekwondo poomsae (forms) freestyle individual women's category. Nanno Watcharakul Limjitkorn, a Thai national athlete, delivered the best performance on stage, scoring 7.900 points.
This victory made Nanno Watcharakul Limjitkorn the first gold medalist of the 33rd SEA Games and secured the opening gold medal for the Thai national team competing on home soil at the ASEAN sporting event.
The silver medal went to a Singaporean athlete with a score of 7.180 points, while the bronze medal was awarded to a representative from Laos with 1.680 points.
