BumBim Chatchu-on, captain of the Thai women's volleyball team, provided an update on her injury after the Thai national team opened with a win at SEA Games 2025.
On 10 Dec 2025 GMT+7, BumBim Chatchu-on opened up after playing her first match as captain of the Thai women's volleyball team, where Thailand defeated Singapore 3-0 in sets (25-17, 25-13, 25-11) in the SEA Games 2025 group stage, Group A, first match.
Chatchu-on said, "Playing the first game on our home ground, I still felt excited and warm as usual, with many fans coming to watch. It felt like a big rehearsal. Even though we had practiced at this venue before, coming back to compete with a full stadium made me a bit nervous. But overall, we managed to secure the victory, which is good."
Regarding her first role as team captain, she revealed she did not feel much pressure because everyone on the team was cooperative. "Being captain for the first match felt normal. I wasn't very nervous because everyone was helping out. My special duties were mainly to go to the risk zone and sign the score sheet."
About her physical condition, BumBim said her injury has nearly fully recovered. "I'm about 100% now, but I still need about a week to continue rehabilitation and build muscle. It might not be exactly the same as before yet, but I'm trying to recover as quickly as possible to help the team as much as I can."
She concluded by sending a message to fans supporting both in the stadium and online: "Thank you to all the fans for your encouragement, whether cheering in the stadium or online. Please keep supporting us. There are still many matches left, including one tomorrow. Please come and cheer us on."
Regarding the SEA Games opening ceremony yesterday, BumBim admitted she was very impressed. "The opening ceremony was very beautiful. We saw pictures on social media and wondered how it would actually look, but once we were there, it was amazing and truly beautiful."
