
Kamolchanok Kwanmuang triumphed to claim the first gold for the Thai swimming team by touching the wall first in 2 minutes 11.78 seconds in the women's 200m butterfly event.
On 10 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the swimming competition at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 2025) was held at the National Sports Complex pool, featuring the women's 200m butterfly event with "Mermaid Noi" Kamolchanok Kwanmuang competing.
"Mermaid Noi" Kamolchanok Kwanmuang secured the first gold for Thailand's swimming team by touching the wall first in 2 minutes 11.78 seconds in the 200m butterfly. Silver went to Thi Mai Tien Vo from Vietnam with 2 minutes 12.10 seconds, and bronze to Jing Wen Gua from Singapore with 2 minutes 13.88 seconds.
Kamolchanok Kwanmuang, known as "Mermaid Noi," still has nine more events, including freestyle 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m; individual medley 200m, 400m; 100m butterfly; and freestyle relays 4x100m and 4x100m.
