Unprecedented Achievement: Thai Women's Sepak Takraw Team Sets World Record, Wins Gold at 2025 SEA Games 2025.

On 11 December 2025, the aftermath of the sepak takraw competition at the 33rd SEA Games was felt. The day before, on 10 December 2025, at the 4,000-seat Stadium 4 of the Nakhon Pathom Municipal Sports Center, four gold medals were contested across men’s and women’s Chinlon team events, as well as men’s and women’s international hoop sepak takraw team events.

The highlight was the women's international hoop sepak takraw team event, where the Thai national team won the 2025 SEA Games gold medal spectacularly by scoring 1,000 points, defeating Myanmar who took silver with 850 points and the Philippines who earned bronze with 540 points.

Achieving 1,000 points in the women's international hoop sepak takraw event set a new world record, as no team had previously reached the thousand-point mark since the sport’s inception.

The international hoop sepak takraw match lasts 30 minutes, meaning the players must successfully shoot the ball through the hoop three times per minute from eight prescribed positions according to the rules. This demonstrates that the Thai women's team relied on both precision and speed, while the coaching staff had to pull the hoop ropes quickly and smoothly, with almost no interruptions.

Roster of the Thai women's national sepak takraw team gold medalists at the 2025 SEA Games:

1. Warinthorn Setraksa

2. Chawisa Rakchati

3. Sujitra Nawasimma

4. Kasemanee Pojanit

5. Areeya Namsomboon
