Impressive: Puripol Runs 100m Under 10 Seconds for the First Time, Advances to SEA Games 2025 Final

Puripol Boonsorn crossed the finish line first in the men's 100m qualifying round at SEA Games 2025.

On 11 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the men's 100m qualifying heats at SEA Games 2025 took place in lane 1 at Suphachalasai Stadium. The top three from heats 1 and 2 would advance to the final, along with the next two fastest times. “Biu” Puripol Boonsorn, a 19-year-old Thai sprinter holding Thailand's national records for 100m and 200m, ran in lane 2.

The Athletics Association aims to secure at least 17 gold medals, hoping to maintain their position as the overall gold medal leader.

Puripol comfortably finished first, qualifying for the final with a time of 9.94 seconds, breaking his previous personal best of 10.06 seconds.

Meanwhile, in heat 2, Thawatchai Heemiat, another Thai national team sprinter, finished third and also advanced to the final, which will be held at 18:50.
