Everything Is Possible: Coach Biu Puripol Reveals Next Goal After Breaking 10-Second Barrier in 100m Sprint

Gentry Bradley, the American coach of Biu Puripol, revealed the next goal: aiming for a 9.8-second record in the 100-meter sprint.

On 12 December 2025 GMT+7, in the men's 100m final at the 2025 SEA Games on 11 Dec, “Biu” Puripol Boonsorn won the gold medal with a time of 10.00 seconds. In the first round, he ran 9.94 seconds, marking his first time running under 10 seconds in his life.

Previously, Puripol has been coached by American Gentry Bradley, who has closely guided him on how to improve his running speed. Bradley has worked on enhancing his fitness and the efficiency of his first 60 meters.

After Puripol clocked 9.94 seconds, Bradley said, "There have been changes in Biu’s running technique. He has to trust me to make the adjustments I recommend. We only had two months to do everything before the 2025 SEA Games."

"I’m very proud that Biu won the gold this time, and breaking the 10-second barrier is something very special. Our next goal is to see if he can run under 9.8 seconds, but he must continue to train hard. We want to break the Asian record."

Puripol Boonsorn is also scheduled to compete for gold in two more events: the 200 meters and the 4x100 meters relay.
