On 12 Dec 2025, during the athletics competition at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) involving countries from the Southeast Asian region, Joshua Robert Atkinson, a 23-year-old Thai-Australian runner, competed in the men's 400 meters final.
Joshua Robert Atkinson, who previously won four gold medals at the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam, claimed gold in the 400 meters with a time of 45.13 seconds. The silver medal went to a Vietnamese athlete with a time of 45.53 seconds, while the bronze also went to Vietnam with a time of 46.21 seconds.
Meanwhile, Best Sarawut Nuansri gave his best effort before finishing in fourth place.
