The highlight featured Puripol Boonsoan, who had just won the men's 100-meter gold, and Thawatchai Hiemiat, two Thai athletes who advanced to the gold medal final.
Puripol did not disappoint Thai sports fans, finishing with a time of 20.07 seconds, breaking his own SEA Games record of 20.37 seconds. The second and third places went to runners from Singapore and Malaysia, while Thawatchai finished fourth.
Puripol and Thawatchai still have the men's 4x100 meter relay event scheduled for 15 December.
