Biw Puripol gave an interview after winning the gold medal in the men's 200m at SEA Games 2025, also breaking the record.
On 13 December 2025, after Puripol Boonsorn won the men's 200-meter gold medal at SEA Games 2025, breaking the SEA Games record with a time of 20.07 seconds, it marked his second gold medal at this SEA Games.
Puripol said, “I feel very happy and excited. Honestly, I was even more nervous than during the 100-meter race because the distance is longer, but I’m a bit disappointed because I had aimed to run under 20 seconds. But it’s okay. From now on, my goal is to break the 20-second mark.”
“I’m very satisfied with my improved time because I had been away from training for a long time due to injury. Also, running the curve in the 200 meters and the fatigue from the qualifying rounds affected me. Earlier, I felt a lot of pressure because Thai people were very interested in the 200-meter race. If you ask which I prefer, I like the 100 meters more.”
“Previously, my coach made various adjustments. Although we haven’t worked together long, he has helped me change a lot. At first, I wasn’t sure if he could improve me, but he always told me to have confidence in him.”
Puripol will next compete in the men's 4x100 meter relay on 15 December.
