Behind the Success of Big Pae: Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda Transforms Thai Athletics, Seeing Results in 3 Months as Biu Puripol Soars to 9.94 Seconds

Behind the success of "Big Pae," Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda has transformed the Athletics Association of Thailand, turning policy into action and achieving results within three months as "Biu Puripol Boonsorn" surged to 9.94 seconds, shaking the global athletics scene.

The transformation of Thai athletics has begun to show tangible results after "Big Pae," Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, president of the Athletics Association of Thailand, decided to bring in Gentry Bradley, known as "Coach G," an American sprint coach, to oversee the preparation of the Thai national team ahead of the SEA Games.

Coach G specializes in training 100-meter, 200-meter, and relay runners, with experience working with athletes across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the United States. He was assigned to directly manage the Thai national sprint group.

Under Coach G's guidance, training methods have become more systematic and specialized, focusing not just on increasing intensity but on detailed individual analysis—from starts, force application, energy use across distances, physical conditioning, to recovery—tailored to each athlete's physique and potential.

This approach has yielded clear results in competition, particularly for "Biu" Puripol Boonsorn, a Thai national sprint athlete who fully realized his potential and achieved a sub-10 second 100-meter time of 9.94 seconds at the 33rd SEA Games.

This achievement is not only a significant record for the athlete but also reflects a new direction for the Athletics Association of Thailand, aiming to systematically elevate the national team—with short-term goals for medals at the SEA Games and long-term ambitions to make Thai athletics a regional leader. This proves that when leadership dares to change, chooses the right experts, and establishes proper systems, Thai athletes are truly ready to step onto the world stage.
