
7-time consecutive champions: Thai sepak takraw women's team defeats Vietnam to win gold at the 2025 SEA Games.
On 14 December 2025, the 33rd SEA Games sepak takraw event was held at the 4,000-seat Gymnasium 4, Municipal Sports Center, Nakhon Pathom. In the women's team final, Thailand faced Vietnam.
The two teams had met earlier in the group stage, where Thailand won 3-0. In the gold medal final, the winner was decided by the best of three matches.
In the first match, Thailand's A team featured "Pookie" Nipaporn Saluppon as server, "Wan" Masaya Duangsee as left front setter, and "Nam" Wilaiwan Kotprom as right front attacker. They narrowly defeated Vietnam 2-0 in sets, 15-13 and 15-12, taking a 1-0 lead.
The second match featured Thailand's B team with "Taeng" Somrudee Prueprak as attacker, "Bo" Wipada Jitpruan as server, and "Fern" Sirinan Kiewpak as setter. They also beat Vietnam 2-0 in sets, 15-13 and 15-8.
This secured a 2-0 victory for the Thai national sepak takraw team, earning them the gold medal. It marks their seventh consecutive SEA Games women's team championship (last won at SEA Games 2021 in Vietnam; the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia did not feature this event).
