"Title-Jane" speak frankly after winning the gold medal in mixed doubles badminton at the 2025 SEA Games, revealing their next goals.
On 14 Dec 2025 GMT+7, "Title" Rutthanaphak Upthong and "Jane" Choeanicha Sudjaiprarat, ranked 13th in the world, gave an interview after their surprising triumph in winning the mixed doubles gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games.
The new Thai mixed doubles pair, "Title-Jane" Rutthanaphak Upthong and Choeanicha Sudjaiprarat, defeated the reigning 2025 world champions Chen Tangjie and Du Yuewei, the tournament's top seeds (ranked 3rd in the world) from Malaysia, in the semifinals in straight games, 21-15, 21-16.
In the recent gold medal match of the 2025 SEA Games mixed doubles badminton, "Title" Rutthanaphak and "Jane" Choeanicha caused another upset by defeating "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fem" Supissara Paewsampran, the tournament's second seeds (ranked 4th in the world), 2-0 games with scores of 22-20 and 21-19.
This victory marked "Title-Jane" winning their first SEA Games gold medal together, their sixth mixed doubles title since partnering in 2022, and their second title this year.
Title Rutthanaphak Upthong spoke about Bas Dechapol Puavaranukroh after defeating the senior player to claim the 2025 SEA Games gold medal: "I never imagined or dreamed it would turn out like this. Since yesterday, for me, P'Bas has been many things—a role model, a teacher, a senior, and the men's team captain. I've always tried to learn from him. I want to thank P'Bas."
Meanwhile, Jane Choeanicha Sudjaiprarat revealed the reason they defeated the "Bas-Fem" pair and their goals for next year: "I'm happy. Maybe it's because we didn't carry much pressure, while they probably felt more pressure, so we played more relaxed and comfortable, allowing us to perform well at what we wanted to do."
"Next year, I want to break into the top 8 because if you're among the top 8, you'll be seeded and won't be placed in a tough group, which could make the draw easier."
