Historic Medal: Thai National Team Defeats Indonesia to Win Gold at 2025 SEA Games

Thailand's national five-a-side baseball team avenged their previous loss to Indonesia by winning 2-0 in sets, claiming the historic SEA Games gold medal.

On 14 December 2025, the five-a-side baseball competition, held for the first time at the 33rd SEA Games, took place at the Indoor Multipurpose Sports Complex, Sports Authority of Thailand. The tournament featured four nations competing in a round-robin format: Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

The final match featured Thailand versus Indonesia, who had previously met in the preliminary round where Thailand won 2-0 in sets.

In this game, Thailand continued their excellent performance, once again defeating Indonesia 2-0 in sets with scores of 9-8 and 4-2.

This victory earned Thailand the historic gold medal in five-a-side baseball at the SEA Games, marking the sport's debut at the event. The team also received a cash incentive of 300,000 baht from "Tao Kae Noi."

Police Colonel Duangchote Suwancharas, President of the Baseball Association of Thailand, expressed his great pleasure that the Thai team met their gold medal goal. He praised the athletes' outstanding performance and noted that this gold medal represents a historic milestone for Thai sports, as it is the first gold in this sport since its inclusion in the SEA Games.

The Thai five-a-side baseball team included Setthawut Bucha, Narupol Muangkaesem, Teetach Suwansaeng, Ramil Yalangkam, Anchira Sirimaha, Sudarat Wiangkhamfa, Kanyawan Sila, and Nanthnapat Wattaprom.
