Roar of Thai National Jet Ski Team Securing 5 Gold Medals at SEA Games 2025

The Thai national jet ski team roared to victory by winning 5 gold medals out of 6 categories at the SEA Games 2025 held at Jomtien Beach.



The 33rd SEA Games 2025 jet ski competition, featuring 6 gold medals, concluded its final day of racing at Jomtien Beach, Pattaya, Chonburi Province, on 14 December. The final motos decided the gold medalists.

The endurance open category (long-distance jet ski) was a 30-minute race in moto 3, where Thailand’s Thaphatwat Josanunsonthi led most of the race. However, in the final lap, teammate Sorawit Phasuk overtook him for first place, with Thaphatwat finishing second.

Nevertheless, the World Jet Ski Federation judges disqualified both Thaphatwat and Sorawit, resulting in the gold medal going to Aero Sutan Aswar from Indonesia with 1,132 points. Thaphatwat received silver with 1,130 points, and the bronze went to Cesar Sabino from the Philippines with 1,096 points.

In the Ski 1500 Stock category (standing jet ski, 1500 cc, engine modifications prohibited) moto 4, Thanawit Moli, who had a commanding lead from the first three motos, rode comfortably to finish third. First place went to Nantawat Singurai, who led from start to finish, while third place was taken by Cody Lorenzo Pontinho from the Philippines.

After four motos, Thanawit secured the first gold medal for the Thai jet ski team with 233 points. Silver went to Cody Lorenzo Pontinho with 202 points, and bronze to Nantawat Singurai with 199 points.

In the Runabout 1100 Stock category (sitting jet ski, 1100 cc, engine modifications prohibited), the young prodigy Sasina Phiangam claimed the third gold medal for Thailand. Leading comfortably in points, she rode safely to finish third in the final moto. Anton Nicholas Ignacio from the Philippines won that moto, and Thai racer Piarrat Srikongrak placed second but was disqualified due to a boat regulation violation.

After four motos, Sasina earned the second gold medal for Thailand with 233 points. Silver went to Anton Nicholas Ignacio with 214 points, and bronze to Christine Kate Merchado with 187 points.

In the Ski GP category (standing jet ski with GP engine modifications), the final moto saw Thailand’s Anon Hongklang take the lead to finish first, with Thanawin Moli, who led in points, finishing second and Cody Lorenzo Pontinho from the Philippines third.

After four motos, Thanawin secured the third gold medal for the Thai jet ski team with 233 points. Anon earned silver with 219 points, and Pontinho took bronze with 192 points.

In the Runabout Limited category (sitting jet ski with limited engine modifications), Supak Setthura led from the first lap, but teammate Kasidit Theeraprateep gained momentum and overtook him to finish first. Supak finished second, and Angelo Ventus from the Philippines came in third.

After four motos, Supak won the fourth gold medal with 226 points, Kasidit took silver with 204 points, and Angelo Ventus earned bronze with 202 points.

The final event, Runabout Stock (sitting jet ski, engine modifications prohibited), saw strong performances from two Thai racers. Teera Setthura finished first, Permphon Theerapatpanich second, and Aksa Sutan Aswar from Indonesia third.

After four motos, Permphon claimed the fifth gold medal for Thailand with 233 points, Teera earned silver with 204 points, and Aswar took bronze with 202 points.

Pol. Gen. Detnarong Sutthichanbancha, president of the Jet Ski Association of Thailand, expressed pride in the team's five gold medals at the SEA Games. He said this achievement demonstrates the Thai jet ski athletes’ competitive skills and the national team’s strength. He also noted the athletes recently contributed to disaster relief efforts for floods in Chiang Rai and Hat Yai.
