Thai Mens 4x100m Relay Team Breaks Record to Win Gold at 2025 SEA Games

The Thai men's 4x100m relay team gave an interview after breaking the record and winning gold at the 2025 SEA Games.

On 15 December 2025, the men's 4x100m relay final at the 2025 SEA Games took place at Suphachalasai Stadium.

Thailand arranged their runners as follows: first leg Thawatchai Himiat, second leg Biu Phuripol Boonsoan, who holds gold medals in the 100m and 200m, third leg Chayut Kongprasert, and anchor Sorarot Dabbang.

The result was that the Thai national team finished first with a time of 38.29 seconds, securing the gold medal.

After the race, Chayut said, “I am very happy and proud. We broke the Thai national record again. We followed the coaching plan brought in by the association president.”

Meanwhile, Phuripol shared, “At first, I didn’t know. I found out a month ago that I would run second leg because I’m a key runner to drive the race. I have to receive and pass the baton. I’m very happy and want to thank all Thai athletics fans for cheering us on, and thank the association for always supporting us.”

Thawatchai revealed, “I felt a lot of pressure, really intense. I tried my best to perform well.”

Sorarot said, “As Biu mentioned, the coach wanted him to lead the race because I have been injured continuously. The coach wanted Biu to help the team as much as possible. I was very nervous running the anchor leg. I’m thankful to have this coach who helped Biu run a 9-second split and helped our 4x100 team perform like this. The coach told us to focus on winning, not the time. My injuries are no longer a problem today, but I have had many serious injuries before, including torn knee cartilage.”
