Keerin Tantivet admitted feeling more exhausted than usual but still showcased top-level form by finishing first in the men's 10,000 meters race, earning his third gold medal at the SEA Games 2025.
On 16 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the men's 10,000 meters athletics event at the SEA Games 2025 remained a stage for Thailand's national runner Keerin Tantivet, who demonstrated stamina and strength by finishing first with a time of 29:41.83 minutes, securing the gold medal.
This performance means Keerin has swept gold medals in all three events at this SEA Games, following his victories in the men's 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters, firmly establishing himself as the top middle- and long-distance runner in ASEAN.
After winning his third gold in the 10,000 meters, Keerin spoke openly about the challenges of the competition.
“It was very tiring today. The 10,000 meters was harder than the 5,000 and 1,500 meters, probably because my body isn’t at 100%. Running the 5,000 and 1,500 meters beforehand caused some accumulated fatigue.”
When asked about future plans, especially regarding the Asian Games, he said he would wait and see how ready he is.
“After this, I will return to training harder. As for the Asian Games, I haven’t decided whether to compete yet; I need to discuss it with my coach first.”
Regarding his finishing time of 29:41.83 minutes, Keerin admitted it was not his best performance.
“I think the time wasn’t very fast because it was really tough, with hot weather and I was a bit tired.”
He concluded by expressing gratitude for all the support.
“Thank you to everyone who cheered for me and thanks to the Athletics Association for their help, which made everything easier and allowed me to compete at my best.”
