
Thai futsal team remains top of the group after comfortably beating Myanmar, securing their second consecutive win at SEA Games 2025.
On 16 December 2025 at 19:00, at Nonthaburi Stadium, the men's futsal competition at the 33rd SEA Games saw the Thai national team face Myanmar in their second match.
In the opening game, Thailand defeated Malaysia 7-1, while Myanmar lost 1-5 to Indonesia. For this match, head coach Miguel Rodrigo started with goalkeeper Natthapong Yimmahreb, defenders Worachak Srihrangphairoj, Krit Aransanyalak, captain Itticha Prapphan, and Amrin Ekapan.
At the 10th minute, Thailand created a scoring chance as Chaowala Sri-awut passed to Muhammad Usman Musa, who maneuvered and shot right-footed, but the Myanmar goalkeeper saved it.
At the 12th minute, Thailand continued pressing after a kick-in; Chaowala Sri-awut passed to Apiwat Jamjaroen, who shot left-footed from outside the penalty area, but the Myanmar goalkeeper saved again.
Then at the 14th minute, Thailand took the lead 1-0 from a kick-in by Worachak Srihrangphairoj, who passed to Itticha Prapphan, who scored with a left-footed shot into the near post. The half ended with this score.
In the second half at the 22nd minute, Thailand extended their lead to 2-0 as Alongkorn Janporn passed to Sarawut Phalapruk, who dribbled past a Myanmar defender before scoring with a right-footed shot.
One minute later, Thailand increased the score to 3-0 following a Myanmar player’s passing error, allowing Athippong Munplai to shoot right-footed into the bottom corner.
At the 37th minute, Thailand had another chance when Amrin Ekapan shot left-footed from outside the penalty area, but the Myanmar goalkeeper made a close save.
No further goals were scored; the match ended with Thailand beating Myanmar 3-0, earning six points from two matches and moving to the top of the SEA Games 2025 standings hosted by Thailand.
