Manas, Olympic Boxing Gold Medalist, Reacts Fiercely After Thai Boxers Are Cheated at 2025 SEA Games

Manas Boonchamnong could not accept seeing Thai boxers cheated, especially with the 2025 SEA Games being hosted at home.

On 18 December 2025, after Arisara Nuneiad, also known as Mongkutphet Phetprawofa, a Thai female boxer in the 45 kg category, gave an interview following her gold medal final loss at the 2025 SEA Games, the result sparked doubts among spectators and the boxing community.

Similarly, “Sia Boat” Natdet Wachirattanawong, promoter of the Petchyindee camp, admitted to Thairath Sport that this was a disgraceful fight, something he had never seen before in his life, especially since the competition was held on home ground.

Recently, Manas Boonchamnong, 2004 Olympic gold medalist and 2008 Olympic silver medalist, posted a fierce statement condemning the cheating of Thai athletes despite competing at home.

“This is utterly disgraceful. The SEA Games are held at home, yet the Thai athletes are cheated. Don’t they feel any pity for the athletes who have trained hard for Thailand? Cheating like this is shameful. I only feel sorry for the athletes.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Sakchai Tapsuwan, president of the Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand, confirmed there was no gold medal sharing with other countries. He said that questions about judging should be directed to the chief referee, as the association’s role is to oversee the organization of the competition, which is a separate matter.
