Thailand's national team lost to Vietnam 2-3 in extra time despite leading 2-0 in the first half, causing the "War Elephants" to miss out on their fourth consecutive SEA Games men's football gold and fail to end their eight-year title drought since 2017 in Malaysia.
The Thai athletes added 12 gold medals from the previous day, bringing their total to 197 gold medals. Thailand still firmly holds first place despite missing the men's football gold, leading second-place Indonesia by 117 golds and third-place Vietnam by 124 golds.
