
The Thai jet ski team delivered an outstanding performance, sweeping five world championship titles in one day at the Jet Ski World Championship held at Jomtien Beach, Pattaya, Chonburi on 19 Dec GMT+7.
The "Thai Airways Double WGP One Waterjet World Cup 2025," combining the World Championship, World Series, and Asia Championship, took place at Jomtien Beach, Pattaya, Chonburi. On the third day, 19 December GMT+7, the competitions decided champions in amateur and semi-professional categories, a day when Thai racers excelled by claiming five world titles.
Starting with the semi-pro standing boat category, GP Expert Ski GP, Thanawich Moli, Thailand's SEA Games gold medalist, showed strong form by winning the first three motos and finishing first in the final moto as well. Thanawich secured the championship with a perfect 240 points. Runner-up was French ace Hugo Pastoreño with 212 points.
In the amateur standing boat light class (Amateur Ski 4 Stroke Lites), Thailand's Intach Longniyom led comfortably after the first three motos, finishing third in the final moto. Andrew Vo from the USA took first place, and Sergei Aleksienko from Cyprus came second in the last moto. After four motos, Intach won the championship with 221 points, Aleksienko was runner-up with 207 points, and Andrew Vo placed third with 206 points.
The amateur sitting boat 1,100 cc stock engine category (Amateur R/A 1100 Stock) featured three motos. Thailand's Lawanakorn Methanithikul claimed the championship with 173 points, followed by Anton Nicholas Ignacio from the Philippines with 144 points and Thailand’s Techin Methanithikul in third with 133 points.
In the veterans sitting boat over 35 years old with limited engine modifications category (Veterans R/A Limited), Thailand’s Attapol Khunsa battled for the title with France’s Pellier Patrice. Both were tied in points before the final moto. Attapol performed better in the last race, finishing second while Patrice was fourth. Attapol won the championship with 207 points, Patrice was second with 187 points, and Ivan Kubabski from Russia took third with 186 points.
The fifth Thai championship came from the youth women's 1Lap slalom Junior 8-13 Women Spark Stock category, which prohibits engine modifications. The champion was Panisara Twipat with 34 points, runner-up Ratinan Homkhor with 33 points, and third place Chayapha Plodjong with 31 points. This brought Thailand’s total to eight world championship titles over the past three days.
Other notable results included the Endurance Open jet ski category, won by France’s Hugo Pastoreño.
The Expert R/A Superstock semi-professional sitting boat category was won by Fahad Alrayyes from Kuwait. The Veterans Ski GP standing boat category for over 35-year-olds was claimed by Jonathan Pan from the USA.
