From senior to junior! Chanathip Songkrasin sends a message to the Thailand U23 national team after their heartbreak in missing the gold at SEA Games 2025.
On 19 Dec 2025 GMT+7, following Thailand's loss in the men's football final at "SEA Games 2025" where they were defeated 2-3 by Vietnam despite leading 2-0, Thailand missed out on winning the SEA Games football title for the fourth consecutive time. Their last championship was back in 2017 when Malaysia hosted the event.
Recently,ChanathipSongkrasin sent a message to the U23 juniors, stating, “Everyone gave their best. Football has wins and losses. Learn from each mistake and keep improving yourself. Time passes quickly. Remember the pain in body and mind, and you will become stronger on your own path because football brings us the greatest happiness.”
The men's SEA Games football champions tally is as follows:
Thailand: 16 gold, 6 silver, 5 bronze medals (total 27)
Malaysia: 6 gold, 6 silver, 8 bronze medals (total 20)
Myanmar: 5 gold, 4 silver, 5 bronze medals (total 14)
Vietnam: 4 gold, 7 silver, 6 bronze medals (total 17)
Indonesia: 3 gold, 5 silver, 5 bronze medals (total 13)
