
From senior to junior! Chanathip Songkrasin sends a message to the Thailand U23 team after missing out on gold at the 2025 SEA Games.
On 19 Dec 2025 GMT+7, following Thailand’s loss in the men's football final of the "2025 SEA Games" against Vietnam 2-3, despite leading 2-0, Thailand missed out on the SEA Games title for the fourth consecutive time. Their last championship win was back in 2017 when Malaysia hosted the tournament.
Recently,ChanathipSongkrasin sent a message to the U23 players, stating, “Everyone gave their best. Football has wins and losses. Learn from each person’s mistakes and continue to improve yourself. Time passes quickly. Remember the pain, both physical and emotional, and you will become stronger on your own path, because football brings us the greatest happiness.”

Thailand national team: 16 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 5 bronze medals (total 27)
Malaysia: 6 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 8 bronze medals (total 20)
Myanmar: 5 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 5 bronze medals (total 14)
Vietnam: 4 gold medals, 7 silver medals, 6 bronze medals (total 17)
