Men's volleyball results at the 2025 SEA Games: "Thai men's volleyball team" defeated "Indonesia" in a thrilling match to reclaim the championship after 8 years.

On 19 December 2025 GMT+7, in the men's volleyball final of the 2025 SEA Games held at Indoor Stadium Huamark, the Thai men's national volleyball team, eight-time gold medalists seeking their first title in 8 years, faced Indonesia, the 12-time champions who had won the last three consecutive titles.

Park Ki Won, the South Korean head coach of the Thai men's volleyball team, started the match with six players: Chaiwat Thungkam, Anurak Panram, Naphadech Pinijdee, Boonyarit Wongthorn, Krisada Nilsawai, and Anuchit Pakdeekaew.

In the first set, the Thai national team started excellently, fueled by the enthusiastic support of the volleyball fans, outplaying Indonesia to win 25-20 and take a 1-0 lead in sets.

In the second set, Indonesia adjusted their game, improving their serves and attack timing, building a significant lead at times and eventually winning 25-16 to even the match at 1-1 sets.

In the third set, the Thai men's volleyball team regrouped with strategic adjustments by coach Park Ki Won, engaging in a closely fought battle with Indonesia, tying at 23-23 before closing the set 25-23 to take a 2-1 lead.

The fourth set remained intense, with both teams exchanging points, but Indonesia proved more precise in the final moments, winning 25-23 to level the match at 2-2 sets.

In the decisive fifth set, the Thai men's volleyball team fought passionately and ultimately triumphed 3-2 sets with scores of 25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 23-25, and 15-12.

The Thai men's volleyball team won the SEA Games gold medal for the first time in 8 years since 2017 in Malaysia, securing their 9th championship title.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's reign was ended after dominating the last three consecutive SEA Games, though they remain the most successful team with 12 titles.
