"Over 11,000 participants" — ThaiHealth, in collaboration with RunRio and over 10 government and private organizations, is hosting the Awaken Bangkok Midnight Marathon 2025. Runners with strong endurance from across Thailand and the world are flocking to compete in the 21.1 km and 10 km events on 21 December, expected to generate over 300 million baht in revenue.

The 8th Awaken Bangkok Midnight Marathon 2025 will be grandly held on Sunday, 21 December, awakening the entire city! This nighttime race runs through the "heart of Bangkok," passing numerous important historical landmarks. Over 11,000 runners from more than 30 countries around the world will participate, with expected economic impact exceeding 300 million baht.

On 19 December 2025, at Krungthep Aphiwat Central Station, a press conference was held for the grand nighttime marathon event, Awaken Bangkok Midnight Marathon 2025 (8th edition). Niromon Rasri, Director of the Health Promotion Lifestyle Bureau (Bureau 5) at the ThaiHealth Promotion Foundation, participated in detailing the event.

The event also featured Thongkhong Thongkongyao, Chief People Officer of Decathlon Thailand; Cristian Martinez, KIPRUN athlete from Spain; and Boonperm Intanapasathorn, CEO of RUNRIO Thailand and Race Director of Awaken Bangkok Midnight Marathon 2025, who together discussed preparations for the event.


The 8th Awaken Bangkok Midnight Marathon 2025, a grand year-end nighttime race in Bangkok, will be held on Sunday, 21 December 2025, awakening the whole city! The race runs through central Bangkok and has become a world-class road running event, certified with the World Athletics Road Race Label by World Athletics (WA) and internationally measured and certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). This year, both the 10 km and 21.1 km categories quickly filled up with over 11,000 participants, uniting runners from over 30 countries in one event expected to generate more than 300 million baht.


The race route offers a unique charm, allowing runners to experience a fresh perspective of Rattanakosin Island. The course passes through the "heart of Bangkok," where each step energizes the city anew. The start line is at the Grand Clock Tower on Sanam Chai Road and passes major historical sites such as the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Golden Mount Chedi, Loha Prasat, Wat Ratchanaddaram Worawihan, Democracy Monument, finishing at the Giant Swing area in Bangkok’s City Hall plaza.


"Awaken Bangkok Midnight Marathon 2025" is more than just a race—it’s a movement of the new generation, unveiling Bangkok from a new angle under a modern design theme that reflects a clear and distinctive identity befitting a global metropolis. The official race kit for the 21.1 km features the trendy new concept "BKK NEW FACE," designed to energize runners to full speed. The Finisher T-shirt is not an ordinary finisher shirt but a symbol of the new identity of today’s runners, along with the legendary "YAK" Awaken Medal.


At the press conference, the Team Pacer & Sweeper from Decathlon were introduced, along with a Warm-Up Show featuring Active Stretching by ThaiHealth. Souvenirs were presented to event sponsors including Decathlon, Gatorade, and ISUZU, amid an enthusiastic crowd of participating runners.


The competition is divided into two distances: the 21.1 km route passes significant historical points amid a vibrant nighttime atmosphere, starting at 03:00 from the Grand Clock Tower on Sanam Chai Road and finishing at the Giant Swing. The 10 km route is designed for runners to fully enjoy the nighttime running experience, starting at 04:00 from the same start point and finishing at the Giant Swing.
