From the SEA Games to Asia! "Biw Puripol" plans to train in the U.S. to break new records! He hopes the association will renew the contract of "Coach Gee," the coach who helped him break the 10-second barrier in the 100 meters.
On 26 Dec 2025, "Biw" Puripol Boonsoan, a young Thai national sprinter, delivered outstanding performances at the 33rd SEA Games hosted by Thailand, winning 3 gold medals in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4x100 meters relay, setting new Thai national records in all three events.
Puripol said he is proud of his achievements at the SEA Games, which exceeded his expectations. Next year, he wants to gain new experiences, with the major event being the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. Before that, he plans to train abroad for about 5 to 6 months, with the United States being the most suitable location.
"My goal for next year's Asian Games is to break my own record, aiming for 9.8 seconds in the 100 meters," he stated.
When asked about "Coach Gee," American head coach Jentry Bradley, whose contract recently expired amid reports that the Athletics Association of Thailand is negotiating to renew it, Puripol said that after the 2025 SEA Games, Coach Gee returned to his country due to contract expiration. He sincerely hopes to have Coach Gee back, as he has greatly helped improve his performance and achieve sub-10-second times in the 100 meters.
If it becomes necessary to change coaches, he said he would need to adapt because he does not know what kind of coach the new one would be. Personally, he feels that "Coach Gee" is the perfect fit and he is already comfortable working with him.
