Thai Esports Association Takes Action After Cheerio Admits Being Stand-in for Tokyogurl Cheating at SEA Games

The Thai Esports Association confirms it will pursue legal action against Tokyogurl and Cheerio to the fullest extent.

On 4 January 2026, following a heated controversy in Thailand's esports scene regarding Tokyogurl, a female RoV national team player, who was suspected of using a stand-in to compete in order to build her reputation and allegedly cheating at the 2025 SEA Games.

Most recently, Cheerio, also known as Kong, a male RoV player linked to being the stand-in, has publicly admitted the facts himself. Cheerio posted on his personal TikTok account on 2 January 2026, confirming his involvement in having a third party play on his behalf, as reported previously, and formally expressed remorse and apologized to the public.

Reports indicate that Mr. Santi Lothong, President of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation and Chairman of the Esports Sports Association of Thailand, will pursue legal action against both individuals to the fullest extent. Cheerio's admission will expedite the investigation process by allowing communication companies to check the IP addresses of the offenders for evidence, with authorities affirming that legal proceedings will continue until fully resolved.
