The Faculty of Architecture and the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University invite participation in the "Run For Better City 2026" event, themed Pet That Pet, on Sunday, 8 March 2026.
On 6 January 2026, the Faculty of Architecture and the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University
organized the “Run For Better City 2026” event under the theme Pet That Pet on Sunday,
8 March 2026, with part of the proceeds aimed at helping stray and disabled animals, including those
that are ill and abandoned.
Mr. Pongsak Laomanacharoen, president of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University, said the "Run For Better City 2026" event is held annually, and this year marks the 9th edition.
Its purpose is to create a beautiful quality of life for society by promoting sustainable urban development alongside enhancing the quality of life for city residents and the environment, consistent with the profession of architects who design buildings and public spaces suited to the environment and encourage positive community interaction. The event will take place on Sunday, 8 March 2026, with an expected participation of about 3,000 people.
“The concept for this year’s event is “Pet That Pet,” expanding compassion to our four-legged city companions. The specific goal is to raise funds to help stray and disabled animals, including those
that are sick and abandoned, because we believe that “a heart full of compassion is the most precious gem.” Caring for these small lives is an important part of creating a livable city for all beings.”
Mr. Krisana Thanathanit, chairman of the Run For Better City event committee, said part of the proceeds will support the Chulalongkorn Veterinary Student Club to promote animal welfare by helping stray and disabled animals, including those suffering from various health, wellness, and hygiene issues, starting with stray dogs and cats
around Chulalongkorn University and nearby communities such as Siam Square, Samyan, Chula 100-Year Park,
the Suphachalasai Stadium, and Wat Pathumwanaram Temple. We believe this initiative will help reduce health and safety problems in the community and contribute to making our city more livable, consistent with the main objectives of the Run For Better City event.
The “Run For Better City 2026” event will take place on Sunday, 8 March 2026, featuring a health-focused run
with three distances: 2 kilometers Nanomarathon, 5 kilometers Micromarathon, and 10 kilometers Minimarthon. The running route starts from the Faculty of Architecture and passes through areas around Chulalongkorn University, nearby communities, and Chula 100-Year Park. The registration fee for all distances is 800 baht, which includes a shirt, commemorative medal, race bib, food and drinks, and accident insurance.
