On 14 January 2026, the Asia Pacific Padel Tour (APPT) is set to host the historic "PAD THAI PADEL GRAND SLAM – BANGKOK" tournament in Bangkok from 16–18 January 2026, with Pad Thai Padel as the main organizer. This marks a significant step in elevating padel sports across Southeast Asia, featuring a record total prize money of 13,000 USD (over 450,000 baht), attracting top international players to compete.
From a niche sport to a mainstream lifestyle trend, padel—a blend of tennis and squash played on glass courts—is emerging as the fastest-growing sport globally, including in Thailand, where it has evolved from a specialized activity into a full lifestyle phenomenon. This APPT Grand Slam event will be a key tournament of the first professional padel tour in the Asia-Pacific region.
Pad Thai Padel, a leader in expanding padel's reach in the region, has announced an aggressive plan to develop new courts in Bangkok, Phuket, Jakarta, and Bali. They also plan to launch "Portable Padel Courts" to be installed at key city locations, making the sport more accessible to communities.
In terms of competition standards, a partnership has been formed with professional-level partner Form Recovery as the Official Recovery Partner to support the health and muscle recovery of top athletes throughout the event.
