Phutthaphum and Hathaiphet Double BMX Champions in Srisatchanalai

"Phutthaphum and Hathaiphet," two national BMX riders, won double championships in Srisatchanalai.


Phutthaphum Nakpan, a Thai national rider and two-time silver medalist at the 33rd SEA Games, clinched double titles in both the men's open and under-23 categories at the first round of the 2026 Thailand BMX Championship for the Royal Trophy. Similarly, Hathaiphet Jaisawang, a female national rider from the Fisherman Friend Rama 3 team, also secured double championships in the women's open and under-23 divisions. Chaiya Boonkerd, mayor of Srisatchanalai Municipality, said that cycling helps stimulate the economy and generate income for the community. He confirmed that the municipality is ready to host the event again next year.


The 2026 Thailand BMX Championship for the Royal Trophy, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, held its first round on 24-25 January at the Chalerm Phra Kiat BMX Track, Srisatchanalai Municipality, Srisatchanalai District, Sukhothai Province. On 25 January, the finals for all categories took place, with Captain Thitiporn Noirak, secretary of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, and Chaiya Boonkerd, mayor of Srisatchanalai Municipality, jointly presiding over the awards ceremony. The event was broadcast live on the Thailand Cycling Association’s Facebook Live and YouTube TCA Channel, attracting over 12,000 views.


Chaiya Boonkerd, mayor of Srisatchanalai Municipality, expressed that the municipality is honored to co-host the first round of the 2026 Thailand BMX Championship for the Royal Trophy. Hosting this event brings great pride to the people of Srisatchanalai and helps boost the local economy. Shops, restaurants, and hotels saw increased business, generating income for the local community. It also raised awareness of Srisatchanalai among Thai and international audiences. The municipality hopes to be honored again by the Cycling Association of Thailand to host future events and is fully prepared and willing to do so.


Notable results from the first round finals included the men's open category, where Phutthaphum Nakpan of the C.S.K. TOOLING PATHUMTHANI team, a Thai national rider with two SEA Games silver medals, took first place. Second was Kanawat Chueathar, also a Thai national rider from Sisatchanalai BMX Racing (SBR), and third was Chairat Thomdon from Sisatchanalai BMX Racing (SBR).


In the men's under-23 category, first place went to Phutthaphum Nakpan of C.S.K. TOOLING PATHUMTHANI, marking his double championship. Second place was Kanawat Chueathar from Sisatchanalai BMX Racing (SBR), and third was Rawipol Phunuch from the National Police Office - Project B team.


In the boys' youth category, first place was Kantaphat Phosri from CK RACING - Ayutthaya Wittayalai School. Second was Pumjaithai Nakpan from C.S.K. TOOLING PATHUMTHANI, and third was Jirayu Phunuch from Project B, Rajvinit Bangkaew School.


In the women's open category, the champion was Hathaiphet Jaisawang, a Thai national rider from the Fisherman Friend Rama 3 team. Second place went to Lt. Chutikarn Kitwanitseth from the Ministry of Defense Office team, and third was Khemika Srisopa from the S.R.I. Cycling Team: Saraburi Girls’ Home.


In the women's under-23 category, first place went to Hathaiphet Jaisawang of Fisherman Friend Rama 3, securing her double championship. Second was Nattawan Tasai from the S.R.I. Cycling Team: Saraburi Girls’ Home, and third was Waratsaya Chantraka from the same team.


In the girls' youth category, first place was Papichaya Krongprong of the S.R.I. Cycling Team: Saraburi Girls’ Home. Second was Papada Krongprong from the same team, and third was Rodamanee Ruenruay from the Samut Prakan Cycling Association. The next event organized by the Cycling Association of Thailand is the track cycling championship for the "Queen Sirikit" Royal Trophy, first round, scheduled from 30 January to 1 February at the Velodrome inside the Sports Authority of Thailand, Huamark. Athletes can register via the Cycling Association’s website at www.thaicycling.or.th starting now until registration closes at 12:00 on Wednesday, 28 January 2026. On Thursday, 29 January 2026, registrations can also be done in person from 09:00 to 17:00 at the Seri Trairat Room, Huamark Velodrome.
