A female runner said she needed to use the restroom during the race, and a local villager sitting in front of their house quickly waved her in to use their bathroom in a very friendly manner. The bathroom was actually inside the bedroom.
Besides water and electrolytes, the highlight roadside dish was "Soy Ju" (fresh raw meat and liver served with a bitter dipping sauce). Villagers brought trays to serve runners right at the roadside, slicing fresh, sweet meat and offering cold drinks to recharge them.
Cheerleaders never slept along the route from Ratchakarn 1 Roundabout to Chang International Circuit. Locals gathered for circle dances, played music, and continuously shouted encouragement to runners throughout the night until morning.
