On 27 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mrs. Thaya Teepsuwan, President of the Pickleball Sports Association, led the association’s committee to congratulate and welcome Assoc. Prof. Pimol Srivikorn after he accepted the role of Chair Advisor of the association. He honored the first meeting of the Pickleball Sports Association’s committee, where the association reported on its progress, including efforts to register pickleball as an official sport and subsequently establish The Pickleball Sport Association (TPSA), which was formally recognized by the Sports Authority of Thailand at the end of last year.
One of their major achievements is hosting the MLAB Thailand Pickleball Championship 2025 at Rugby School International in Chonburi province. This international-standard event featured 16 courts and attracted athletes from over 15 countries, demonstrating Thailand’s capability to host global tournaments. This year, the association plans to continue organizing major tournaments for the second consecutive year.
Additionally, the Pickleball Sports Association supported selecting Thai athletes to compete in the ‘LI-NING CUP’ China-ASEAN Pickleball Open in the People’s Republic of China, where they performed excellently by finishing in the Top 8, highlighting the strength of Thai pickleball athletes on the international stage.
Mrs. Thaya revealed plans for this year, stating that the association will organize five smaller tournaments before concluding with a major event at the end of the year. Concurrently, they will promote pickleball widely among youth and students in Bangkok and other provinces to build a strong athlete base and prepare them to represent Thailand nationally in the future, beginning with a pilot project at the sports school in Trang province.
Assoc. Prof. Pimol, Chair Advisor of the association, encouraged the organization, emphasizing the need to strengthen the association to elevate it to a national sports body level and to push Thai national pickleball athletes to compete officially under Thailand’s name on the global stage.
